Train: Bahau-uddin Zakaria
Train Class: Business Class
Experience Summary:
We four friends were on our getaway trip to Sadiqabad, we thought to make our journey comfortable by booking back way trip via Business Class Train (Biggest mistake ever!)
So the journey started half an hour late than usual time (Thanks to our efficient systems), we went inside our cabin and to our surprise it was a mess. I have attached pictures for the reference, the beds had stains which made us want to sit on floor rather than using them, hardheartedly we tried to rest on them and then appeared the big devils! Yes the very famous “Khatmal-Bed Bugs” which made our journey miserable! We could hardly sleep or sit in comfortable position due to them as they kept on appearing from nowhere and bit us badly. In short the whole journey was a survival battle to reach Karachi, the purpose of writing the whole experience is that if the conditions are such worse in business class then forget about what would be going on in economy class! Everyone cannot afford other means of travelling that’s why chose train for economical and so called comfortable journey, but I really feel sad while I pen down this experience that after a long time we chose to travel via train and it was utter disappointment. I really hope that new government pay some attention to this sector.

  1. OMG that sounds awful
We travelled in business class from Rawalpindi to Lahore for fun because we usually commute in our own car or via Daewoo but it was a wonderful experience much comfortable than a bus, the compartment was clean and recliner seats with super comfortable with plenty of leg space … the journey started on time and we reached in dot four hours …
I hope they make the service same everywhere and they should fine people for making a mess … people really need to be taught

  2. Damn!…. that’s really sad and gloomy state of affairs from our Pak Railways. For all the people saying “awam ka kasoor hay” , this is not a solution. Pak Railways should initiate inspections and put fines/penalties. This is how it is done. BUT, for this, they first need to pull their socks up.
