Salzburg ! Our best friend goals still hadn't ended in ITALY (REVIEW ON ITALY DONE PREVIOUSLY) which encouraged us to travel all the way to Salzburg. The diary of two friends continued in Salzburg, a UNESCO world heritage site which is often known as the city of Mozart. Needless to say one could feel Mozarts presence and the sound of his famous rhythms all around the city.
Breath taking , Haseen (beautiful in Urdu), Schon (beautiful in German) etc. are not enough to describe Salzburg. Even though winters were about to end it was still pretty cold and icy, one could see white pure snow all around the city. We rank this city as a perfect honey moon or family place, not much to do for two boys except for staring at others. Salzburg is one of those cities where people generally prefer to wander in the streets, go to famous markets or just admire the beauty of medieval and before medieval constructions.
The most amazing places to see in Salzburg include Hohensalzburg castle ( Please don't be a snob, you have to go on top, the view of eastern alps and the city is MINDBLOWING) , Hellbrun Palace to give you a lady/Gentleman like feeling once you walk in the gardens, Nonnberg Abbey, St. Peters Abbey, Mozarts birthplace (for a bit of history on Mozart) , street markets, Salzburg museum and countless street statues to leave you awe struck.
Salzburg is quiet expensive, so is the whole of Austria, but it depends on what you eat and where you eat. Of course if you are no halal/haram fanatic you can enjoy some warm sausages on the streets, but if you are a fanatic then you can have fries or boiled vegetable soup (not a PHO , boiled vegetable soup! as i said) . Not the most ideal place to shop, there are many local brands which may interest very few.
As the sun started to set, born and bred in the city of Karachi we felt the urgency to leave since the streets are usually very dark, calm and cold (Rest assured, A SAFE PLACE (NO MOBILE SNATCHERS)). Even though we really needed a good place to relax and savour over drinks, we felt Salzburg seldom has night life, just a few typical pubs here and there. After waiting a while at the central station we made our way back to Munich.
Over all, a beautiful city, if you google it you'll see some insane cinderella, snow white, beauty and the beast type pictures which surely are a TRUE depiction of Salzburg. 😊❤
A must go with your better half or family (not the best friends sort of place )
