Bear in mind that you are required to submit your original passport (photocopies will be rejected) and that this passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your return from South Africa.

ID Card

CNIC is a document that not only proves your identity and nationality but also contains other bits of important information like your signature and date of birth. This is why the South African embassy asks applicants to bring along their CNICs when they’re applying for a visa. If you plan to travel with your children, you must bring a copy of their B form from NADRA.

Passport Size Photographs

Just like with any other travel document, you are required to submit 3 passport size photographs. These pictures must be as recent as possible (not older than 4 months) and must be captured against a white or bright blue background as this considerably helps the database computers.

Cover Letter

The next document on the list of things you need before you can be granted a South African tourist visa is a cover letter. This letter must cover the reason for your visit to South Africa and state the duration of your stay in the country.

Bank Statement

You are also required to submit a bank statement of the last 6 months. You should also submit salary slips of the last 6 months. This is done to ensure that you can sustain yourself financially in South Africa.

Income Tax Papers

People who want to visit South Africa must also produce a copy of their income tax papers. If you can’t find your income tax papers, photocopies of your tax returns and tax payments of the last three years will suffice.

Applicants are also instructed to bring along a written statement (affidavit) that states their reason and duration of visit. This affidavit must be printed on a stamp paper, written in English, attested by a high ranking official and faxed straight to the South African embassy.

Confirmed Air Ticket

Before you can be granted a South African tourist visa, you must provide a copy of your flight tickets. Preferably, these should be return tickets that state your date of leaving South Africa.

Confirmed Hotel Booking

The South African embassy also wants to see the evidence of your accommodations in the country. You can meet this requirement by providing a copy of your hotel reservations. However, one copy of these reservations must be faxed directly to the High Commission of South Africa (Fax: 0092 51 225 0140).

All Previous Passports
