Trip to OBAN’

Oban is a town and port in western Scotland. It’s a gateway to the Hebridean islands. The Colosseum-like McCaig’s Tower overlooks Oban Bay. Seafood eateries cluster by the harbour. Outside town is the ruined Dunollie Castle, once the seat of Clan MacDougall. The nearby house museum, from 1745, explores clan and local history. On Loch Creran, the Scottish SEA LIFE Sanctuary has an aquarium and rescue centre.

  1. If you are in Oban go to the green shack for the freshest seafood you are ever going to eat in your life. Have a chat with the old owner of the shack and admire the great Scottish coast. The Welsh and Scottish coasts are really good for trekking and you can scatter your stay at a number of hostels along the coastal trek to cover a good 80 miles in 5 days on foot.
